I see that the 09 Harleys are using Brembo breaks on most of the bikes. I wonder if Buell will ever go to a better break in the rear and a Brembo made TLZ calipers in the front. That would be very nice.

i just ordered my brake relocate bracket from darkhorse and a brembo 2-piston with a braided line, should be noticeable.

Marchesini has been talking about making rims for Buells with radial brake. Since Machesini is part of Brembo, there might be a chance that the brakes will follow. The Harley/Buell thing might add to it coming true. The only thing stopping any of this, is Buell itself. Since these are products exclusively for Buell, they have to put up all the production costs. Brembo/Marchesini won't put up the costs for the forging molds, or the tooling, for a one off product that doesn't have another outlet. The Harley thing was a no brainer since it's a standard brake that was already in production.

Very cool, Imo thats one place that Buell needs to work on is the breaking. The radial mounted break works great but needs more refinement and feedback and the back break is useless, It feels more like a drag parachute than a break.

hopefully, the 2-piston brembo and braided line will change that, would like to go with a full floter disc for the rear but they run about $350 - $400 way to much, especially since you use the front brake almost exclusively.and climber,i paid $70 for the relocate bracket,$34 for the brembo 2-piston from ebay, and $37 for a braided line.not bad.

Well Buells run a braided line with the factory brake system and will fit to the relocation. So with this i ask is there a reason why you bought a new one and did you go with the factory lenght.

Thanks

...Halfway down Page 2 of this thread will explain it. With the brake caliper relocated behind the swingarm takes up almost all the slack out of the stock brake line. Brembo Rear Brake

Steven - I think you missread or were misslead. there is slack in the line a stock line will work. The issue is that it snakes up touching the swingarm. When the arm moves it will rub the paint off the arm. there is slack behind it my picture does not tell the whole story. I will probably replace the line cuz I don't want it to rub on the swingarm.

Ahhh, I misread it.

I was too busy messin' with Henri at the time.

firechicken,my boys at the shop that did some fabrication on the chopper i posted a pic of on here make custom brake /throttle/clutch,ect lines pretty cheap for me,got one with black fittings and a different degree on it to fit better, will put all my stuff on when i paint the bike in a month or so.

Ok. Here's an update straight from the horses mouth. Brembo radial brake is not going to happen. They already experimented with this many years before Buell did. Their conclusion was that braking was good, but it added too much weight to the outer edge of the wheel. At most we'd see a rear brake or if Buell decides to go with regular brakes on the hub. The Marchesini wheels are still a possibility but only If Buell puts up the ends to pay for the molds. They haven't said no or yes, so it's still up in the air. It would do wonders for handling since the weight saved on the wheel would be huge, making cornering so much better.

Dream Killer...........................

I agree, but at least there is till hope with the rims. The improvement in handling and acceleration will be considerable with the magnesium rims.
