Hi everybody,
It's been a while since I've been on the forum. Still planning on buying a bike this coming spring. I've been checking out other bikes in my lapse off the forum. I really want to by a 'superbike style' bike and have come down to two choices. The Honda CBR1000RR or an 1125R. Either way, I'll be buying a used bike cause cash is really tight right now. I like the idea of buying something made in America. (My boss owns a 2011 Ducati 1100 Monster.) The Honda has all the performance and the handling that Icould handle. The 1125R will be cheaper for the initial purchase which means I will have money faster for upgrades. I just don't like those damn radiator cowls. I seen my first 1125R in person last week and the cowls are a lot larger than I thought they were. If I could get the bikes appearance closer to the 1190's it would be no question of which bike I would prefer. Has anyone tried to modify an 1125R in this respect yet?
Thanks.

Why break something that inst broken? If you want a super-bike look, get the Honda, or save up for the EBR 1190.

:D :D

theres no good or cheap way to remove the pods.
Cover is a good alterntive.

RT Performance; good looking bike. I like the linked fairings a lot also.

Applepooh; I have had a lot of the Japanese bikes in the past, I trust the Honda's capability and engineering, just would like to have something American for once. It would be a long time for me to be able to afford the 1190, even after it is released in a version for the masses I would presume it to be in the $15-$20K range to compete with the European competitors. More than I can spend for a want rather than a need.
I've read a some of the reviews of the 1190 and how the various issues of the handling and brakes have been worked out. I think I could upgrade the 1125 to the 1190 spec engine performnce wise, just have reservations on the frame changes that have been made to achieve the 1190RS.

I feel the changes are subtle but major. The chassis looks the same but are geometrically a lot different. I would think the 1125's shortcomings in handling where re-engineered into what the 1190 is now.

The lithe and lean 1190RS is nothing like its big-barred, broad-shouldered predecessor.

I know they changed the wheelbase and the rake. That requires frame mods for geometry changes like that.

Damn I really need to bump into that dorky nerd Erik Buell and have him sign my bike. Feel like that will set it off!!
