ok everybody not to burst any bubbles but im a motorcycle tech with a buell and im doing a dyno course right now, and so you all know that program will destroy your buell performance, you have what they call a learning ecm it takes in your riding habits and calculates air/fuel ratio and timing to you. so the ecmspy is a scam, i just bought the race ecm from the factory and i have the gp1 exhaust, bike runs and sounds great. i have a little loss on the bottom end but the top end is better then it ever has been. im going to put it up on the dyno and get some soild numbers i'll post my finding.

Make sure to post what shop and city you work in so others can avoid such stupidity.

not to mention you said you bought a race ecm. did you know that the race maps are available in many places. with this scam of a program you could have turned your factory ecm into a race ecm for the price of a cable (30-40 bucks). how much did your race ecm cost?

I bought one, works great, I think it was like 40 dollars or so with shipping, there is a guy that makes them. He even gives you a copy of the stock and buell race maps. I loaded the race map and did an TPS reset. It's totally worth it and completely legit.

That's the one I bought, he does free shipping. I don't think it works with 09 Buells... but you can contact him and talk about it, I'm no expert in tuning, just a savvy computer user who could figure it out no problem.
ECMSPY cable link

there may be cheaper ones, but some have to pay shipping, the price comes about the same.

That's what I thought. Hard to decipher from the spy site. So many links to other things. I did download Mono.
Looks like I'll be able to end the decal pops be activating "kill fuel on decel."

Question: Since the stock ECM is a learning module, will it self adjust the mapping done with ECMSpy?

Supposedly ECMSpy for Mono will work with 08+, assuming I understnad everything.
The web site seems to still be developing. I hope it will work for 08+ and come with stock and race maps ready to load.
I am not a mechanic or a software engineer. So simple works best for me.
On my Jeep I can replace something I know is broken, but don't expect me to diagnose a strange noise from the motor.

Does the Cable from EBR work with ECMSpy for tuning and all that? Just wondering if anybody has gone that route.

I have an 08'Ss with a Jardine can and it pops on decel as well as misses and even occasionally burps out the intake when accelerating from idle. Will the ecmspy or TPS reset sort this out.
I have put 1500kms on it since changing the muffler and the computer is not compensating enough, in my opinion.

Man I so do not want to beat a dead horse but I'm new and the only way I find to get a working (activated) copy of ecmspy today (May 2011) is to pay for it.

I'm OK with paying and it seems to be for a charity which is cool but really all I plan on doing with my software is to reset the TPS, to look at error codes and monitor engine values.

The cost today is $80 pounds or $93.96 which is costly for a TPS reset. I'd take it to my local Buell Dealer (Vallejo, CA HD) but they closed a few months ago.

I loaded a demo version of the software but it wouldn't let me reset the TPS.

If I do opt to pay for the software how do I figure out which ECM I have. It's a 2007 XB12STT with a Buell "Race Only" ecm???

Am i missing something? Has anyone successfully loaded ecmspy for free since they shut down the project?
