I think this might be interesting to see. I had my race exhaust high temperature ceramic coated. The exhaust can was beat, now it is looking good. The previous owner ran something over that dented and scratched up the bottom. It is on the bottom and the only way to see it is to get on the ground and look, so it works out. The coating cleaned up the scratches quite well. I hope it lasts quite a while.

Cool! Question....to anyone....how does changing to a new exhaust affect the Buell Manufacturer's warranty? I was thinking about upgrading my exhaust for more horsepower, but I don't want to void my warranty. I have a 2008 XB12Scg. Also, will I have to change the ECM?

Having that done cost me $100 flat. I originally had a quote for $150 with the headers, but when I found out the hassle it would be to take the headers off, I only went with the muffler. The headers are in fine condition so it is no big deal. I dropped it off in the before condition, picked it up in the after. The shop took care of all the stripping and prep work. They have this sweet media bath thing where you drop in the part and all the tiny balls wear off the corrosion and paint.

Won't get a lot of gain in horsepower with exhaust only.

Not sure on this one.

Not a must with just the exhaust, but it's always recommended with any performance mod. You'd be better to serve your horsepower cravings by upgrading exhaust & intake along with a Race ECM. There's a LOT of threads on this subject.
