Hello,
First post on the forum, first a little about me. I've been riding for about a year, started on an SV650 where I contracted sport V twin fever, just upgraded to a 2009 Buell 1125r 3 weeks ago. I'm in love with the bike, it's a monster! She's been good to me so far, but after a spirited ride through the countryside yesterday the check engine light is coming on. Any help you folks can offer is greatly appreciated!

Here are the codes from diag:

U0001 - comm error, not too worried since this is the first time

P0087 - fuel pressure system error
B1005 - low fuel system error (I imagine these 2 are related?)

P0693 - left fan
P0692 - right fan
P0691 - right fan

I've done some research and from what I can tell the first 3 errors don't seem to be a big problem. Couldn't find much on the p0691-3, those concern me. I've not ridden the bike except down the street and that seemed fine. I've not had any problems with the fans coming on before. Anyone know anything about these errors, and how to proceed?

Fan codes could be related to the comm error.

I would start with the battery, if low on juice it really plays havoc wih this bike, also check your battery terminals-tighten them.

Check your ground wires-tighten them.

If the bike is running fine, I wouldn't worry too much about it yet.

You will get a cel/lfl combo because of the sensor in the tank, I get it almost every time I fill up or it's cold out.

Kruizen, thank you for your reply. I posted over at badweb as well and was told to check if the fans kick on once coolant reaches 171 degrees F. They do not appear to be doing so, possibly an ECM issue?

I will take your recommendation and check the battery and terminals. Previous owner told me the battery was replaced last year and he kept it on a tender. I will post back with an update. Thank you very much for your recommendation!

As for fuel sensor, I just filled the bike up before I rode last (always use premium, 93 around here) I imagine its at around 3/4 tank.

Comm error means that something is loose/unplugged from ECM. Take the left pod cover off and make sure all connections with ECM are snug.

Kruizen, I had the same inclination. Thank you very much! I'll check and report back. I greatly appreciate your help!

Here's an update: checked the fuses and the fan fuse blew. Replaced, and fans started working again. Ran the bike and it blew another fuse. Seems to be indicating a larger problem, anyone have suggestions what could be causing the fan system to blow fuses?
