Clutch broke primary case, ever seen this one?

I just bought my first buell xb12r, pretty clean one owner and am getting off to a bad start. My 4th ride the clutch cable suddenly had extra freeplay and would not disengage. the cable seems fine. I have found the primary gear case has broken out where the clutch release mechanism sits against it. Has anybody seen this before? 8000 miles. clutch felt good before that. Help please

Well mine has about 10k and I also was just riding when my clutch handle suddenly gained about an inch of freeplay. When I got home I looked it over and turns out the little wire backet that secures the clutch cable broke off and let it rest nice and cozy on the header.
