Hey guys so i was just riding my xb and the clutch went soft to the point where it wouldnt engage anymore. I was able to get it home but am trying to figure out what went wrong. Dont think the cable just went loose. I have done some research and think it may have been the clutch slave cylinder/ seal because there is also a little fluid on top of my muffler (below front sprocket area where i was advised to look). I went to look up this part to see how much it would be but couldnt find any parts. Any help here? Does it sound like this is in fact the correct problem?

In my experience the buell xb models do not have hydraulic clutch systems and therefore do not have a slave cylinder or issues associated with a slave cylinder. I think you may be confusing the clutch issues that some 1125 models have had with what you're experiencing on your xb.
The clutch system on the xb models is a cable actuated spring system with a ball and ramp mechanism that assists in the engagement/disengagement of the clutch. Least that's my non expert non professional explanation of it.
I think your issue is either with the cable, the adjustment of the clutch or the primary cover itself.
Check that your cable doesn't have excessive play. Check at the lever, the adjustment area under the rubber cover near the front of the bike or check that the cable hasn't cracked or isn't broken where it meets the primary cover. That's checking the cable.
If everything with the cable is good to go you may want to open the inspection cover and make sure the primary cover area, that retains and assists the actuation of the ball and ramp mechanism for the clutch, isn't cracked or broken.
If everything with the cable and primary cover, behind the inspection cover, are good to go then you might want to adjust the clutch. It's pretty simple and takes about 5min.

Read through this old thread and you should have no problems with the adjustment.
If the above advice and or procedures don't help, then you need to look into down loading a service manual and performing a complete inspection of the clutch system.

You will need to pull the clutch ramp out to see any damage. See the cracked part just to the right of the adjuster?
