starting with a lemon 2006 Xb12Ss.. lightning long are only a bit longer wheel base than the other models so more comfortable on us taller riders. i believe that Ss and Ulysses are the same wheel base and are exchangable with SOME of the parts

The reason im building this bike to be more like a uly is mostly for the comfort of myself and the girlfriend. ill be posting back here as i work on making this bike my own homemade backcountry beast.

all the harness i had re-taped and protected from vibration from when my bike was new to me and i was fixing everything to make it even ridable..

Very nice! I would recommend you brace the pannier rack (and back of the seat) around to the frame somehow. The Uly does this by connecting the bag frame back to the passenger pegs which are on the same assembly as the rider pegs that attaches to the frame.

Looking good so far! Can't wait to see the finished product. Enjoy the back roads of Colorado. Ride safe

im bringing in the uly rails so that i can drill and tap them for the Ss rider brackets this week.. hoping to get out here soon on it but hell ... its colorado.. was in the 60's on friday... in the 20s with ice and a few inches of snow from yesterday.. go figure
