I believe through some research that my new to me xb12s has gone through the necessary steps to be an scg:
1. Seat is the low seat (part #M0076.3AE marked on the seat bottom)
2. Yellow suspension spring
3. Forks lowered...I think. Believe the bottom of the tree is aligned with the screw on the front tire fender (see picture)

Am I missing anything else? Apologies if I missed this in a search, I think I covered the points...maybe haha

Ugh, thought I missed something, sigh. Thank you. I'll check it this evening and lookup to compare. Kind of excited that the conversion is (almost) there...I preferred an scg but couldnt pass up the deal on this S. I'm going to check the VIN IDs too just to be sure it's not a stock scg (previous owner I'm not positive did much research to check this when he bought from the original owner).

Silverrider,
I tried checking some threads but may have missed it (or rushed through it) is there a way to differentiate between the kickstands? Obviously by length, but, I couldnt find a definitive length measurement to know when I check my kickstand. Maybe a part number stamp on the kickstand itself? I will say the bike does lean over at a good angle...I would think if it was a regular S kickstand it would be more upright.

Hope this helps I dont own my SCGs any more, But I did have 2 at one time, hard to decide which to ride. :black_eyed:

4th and 5th digit in vin is WX if it is a SCG

Well there you have it, the 4th and 5th numbers are indeed WX. Now I'm even more excited since the scg was my top choice! Do you recall if the timing cover had an scg specific cover? Only asking because mine is the normal S logo/brand

Nope there were no SCG markings on them. All bikes just said S.

Thank you for the fast reply! Silly question, windscreen logo was also just the S? Mine was debadged from previous owner. I feel a little bad he didn't know this stuff. I think he literally rode it as is from the first owner.

I just noticed your location, I moved from Leesburg VA a couple years ago. I miss riding up there!

Groves HD is a great Buell friendly dealer if you ever need help with anything. There was a mechanic that road raced his XB, everyone was very helpful.

Do you mean Whitt's in Manassas? I've never been there, but very good to know! I live a few miles from Grove's HD here in Winchester but not sure they are Buell friendly. There is a shop on I-81 a few miles north of Winchester I'm going to call to see if they are familiar with Buell's. The used to sell Victory and Ducati out of it, but now are mainly a full time service shop for bikes...although do sell a small inventory of consigned bikes, as well as new Royal Enfields. They seem to be rather knowledgeable and friendly all around so hoping they are with Buell's also. Especially if I wind up needing their help on some thing's I' uncovering.

I edited my previous post, I was thinking Whites up in Lebanon Pa for some reason.

My buddy bought his first XB from Whitts in Manassas it was the exact sa me bike as yours but a 08. I don't know if they are still Buell friendly.

Ah OK. I noticed White's also on a trip to PA last year. Still good to know about Grove's! Grove's used to be Buell friendly, I'd go there to look at Buell's 10 years ago when I got my M license...will have to stop in and ask one day. They removed their Buell marque from their sign about 2-3 years ago...which I found odd they waited so long to remove it

I dont remember when but all dealerships were required to remove the Buell signs. All HD dealerships that previously sold Buell will order parts for you though.

I use Surdyke, New Castle, or St Paul HD for the best price you will find on parts. Barnetts HD where I live will order parts but they are always more expensive.

If you need to find part numbers use https://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webs...09&model=AC6EF6AB-1FED-45F8-B607-766424BA8621 copy paste the part number to Google and Surdyke, New Castle, or St Paul will be the top results.

Appreciate it oh9! I actually placed an order from both St Paul and New Castle after finding their info on a few posts here. I will try twinmotorcycles for part numbers too, that's really helpful! Just trying to do what I can on my end learning before asking questions...I'm the opposite of that one guy who was having issues asking about tuning a straight pipe haha. Wel, hopefully anyway...I do have my buelltooth coming in the mail though

:up::up:

I don't do much tuning but I have a Buelltooth and it's a great tool to have in the toolbox!
