OK, I am up too late and may have indulged a little, but who else feels a real connection with their bike? You know it's not alive but you get attached to it like you would a dog. Maybe it comes from doing your own hand-on work, I don't know. I also have a Ninja and I've been riding it exclusively for the last couple of weeks because it was too hot to ride the Firebolt. I took the 'bolt to work today. I had missed riding it, so I was glad to be on it, but about halfway home I realized I felt that connection... it wasn't just "oh, I'm having fun". Kinda strange I guess! i've always gotten attached to all my cars, but not as much as with the 'bolt. :D

I know what you mean. I've got the same thing with my sportster. It was my dad's first Harley and so I basically grew up on it. I finally bought it from him and started changing it up to fit my personal style so now it's truly my bike but I still love the fact that it's also the same one I spent my youth on the back of. I'm a very sentimental person so it's no wonder lol. Whenever I come down from like 90+ mph I always give it a pat on the tank like it's a horse lol

I also love my buell! I like personalizing and working on all my vehicles but there's something special about the firebolt :) I'd never sell it.

It is a machine. But it does have feelings and personality. They can be a pain in the ass when neglected, or your best friend when you spend time with it. I love my Buell

If I dont ride for a few days I literally have withdrawals. Im not connected. Im addicted. I am completely serious. Winter is an cruel, evil season for me. I had a chance to spend a winter in Phoenix one time. I rode every day all winter. It was amazing. I wish I could move out west but Im locked down here. You guys out there don't know how lucky you are.

I love how I get goose bumps every time I crank her up after I've been to busy to ride for afew days. I usually get em again right when I throttle thru second and lope into third that first time. I'm not ashamed to say I'm n love with both my buells. They don't mind how many buells I have or ride just so long as I ride them. They're the least expensive women in my home lowest maintenance too. That's why they get the other side of the garage and not my girls caddy cuz they deserve it. And yeah I got a ninja aswell a 99' zx6. Its a fighter that lives under a tarp on the back porch. I let my bother ride it when he's home from school every couples months but err... its gonna need a battery this time cuz uh... I used it in the bolt[up]

I watched Goodfellas this weekend, oldie but a classic, so I was thinking this thread was about 'connected guys' :D
