I've searched through the forums and I can't find a post specificallg stating what i will need to convert my xb12s to an xb12r. I know i will need the fairings but what will I need to fit them onto the frame? What sort of brackets should I be buying? I've bought the front fairing for the headlights but im sure ill need some sort of bracket or frame to mount it. Ive looked up videos but all i can find is people converting their firebolts to lightnings and not the other way around. Please help! Thank you all for reading

You will need the mount that holds the fairing on. pretty simple. I did it once. don't know the part numbers so not much help there. Sorry

yeap, just double check on the upper triple clamp size as the fork tubes sizes were changed on the newer models, check out my build thread here as a guide, pay close attention to the headlight wire harness part instead of hacking the original to install the R setup.

You dont have to worry about the top triple they were all the same size the lower triple is what changed.

[up][up] thrst awesome help with those lists.

Okay thanks, and last question. Does that list include the parts needed to change the xb12s tail end go the R version or do i need more parts for that?

Im really interesed in all the parts you guys have to offer. Im not too sure if i would like to trade my parts as, to be honest, this is my first attempt in something like this and im not sure if i wanna get rid of my parts incase i realize im in over my head. I dont think I am as i have experience with cars(just not motorcycles). I priced out the whole front and it looks like its gunna be somewhere around 800 which seems kinda expensive for just the front conversion. I cant really imagine how expensive the tail is going to be haha. Thanks for all of your help! You guys can keep posting things you wanna sell that will benefit me! Im sure will think of more questions as well!

I spent about four months collecting all the parts for the conversion. During that time, sold off parts that were lying around the garage, to include the tail bag to get all the parts needed. Sadly, the conversion only lasted about a month or so and swapped it back to an S. Anyway, most of the parts came from forum members at reduced prices being that they were used with very minor issues or none at all. You don't have to buy everything new, but there may be an item or two that you will have to order new.
Since the conversion, I have collected just about all the stock parts for my bike if and when the time comes to part with her. Last thing on my list is the stock handle bars. Good luck with the conversion.
And thanks guys, the list is also on "My Pics" as well the '03 9SL parts catalog if anyone needs the info.

A tail is more value able than an R tail, be careful how you trade or what you trade. This is why I offered to sell you a complete R tail fairly cheap. Never heard back
