Cooling Fan Motor replacement

What is the best way to install a new fan motor in the old Buell fan housing? Appears there is 2 options:
1. Pop the fan blade off and press back on after the motor swap.
or
2. Make 2 cuts in the fan housing motor mount between the supports and slip the motor in between the cuts.

Have a new cooling fan, SPAL 30103013, on order and should be here Friday.

#3-Remove fan blade assembly...press old OEM motor assembly out of housing...lightly lube new Spal motor outer housing...press back into original housing...install fan blade assembly. NO cutting required.
