Cooling fan

I have a 2005 firebolt XB9R and it has 10k miles on it. Lately when I have shut the bike off and the fan is running it makes a weird noise. I can only hear it when the bike is off and it doesn't make the noise if I turn it with my hand. Does this mean my cooling fan is going or does something need to be greesed on it. Any help will be greatly appreciate. Thank you.

what kind of noise does it make? klacking? chirp? grinding? more info would help.

I would grease it up or maybe spray a little WD-40 to see if that helps though. couldnt hurt.

Sorry about that it makes more of a noise like something is almost loose but I have watched the fan when its on and nothing appears to be loose unless its inside of where it turns. I'm taking the bike in this Monday to get the 10k service and just didnt want them to tell me my fan is broke and I have to pay a lot of money for one when in fact it could have been an easy fix.
