Alright, so my 2003 Buell xb9r firebolt has never idled on the stand, not even in neutral, not for me, not for the owner before me, is this normal? I mean i don't really care that i have to actually sit on the bike to start it, and be ready to ride, probably conserves gas. but just checking in to make sure everything is all good.

also my low beam is gone, the connecter wires are bad, the ones going to and from the light it self, and the ones it connects to, where can i find them?>

hmm thats odd...does it seem to matter if the kick stand is down or not? i would say check out the kick stand switch(or its the starter safty switch) to make sure its working right.

as far as connectors check this site using google. there was a post a while back of someone looking for new plug pins. there was a link going to some Harley (privately owned) site but it seem to have new empty pins for the whole bike.

Maybe it has something to do with the bank angle sensor? I'm guessing when you're sitting on it, you being it vertical at that point, no?

i durno. it's only when the stands down, when its up, starts in, or out of gear (with the clutch of in of course) i've heard a few people say that some of them was factory like that?? been like that for 3+ years i've known of though.

sounds like the stand safety switch is out, they were eliminated on later models, you can defeat it with a jumper wire

i had 03 fire n u have to eliminate safety switch and i wud advise grinding the stop to let the stand rotate a tad farther, mine fell over while idling which led to my mods

yea it must be a switch issue, the bike should start on the stand. These bikes need to warm up for a couple minutes before riding. So the typical buell rider will make sure his bike is in neutral, start it, and then while its warming up, you put on all your gear. I would hate it if I had to sit on it just to start it.

Fixed the headlights and the stand in one go.

Apparently the PO had the fuses all ****** up and the wiring, so i did away with the "white connecter" and used spades, and then replaced all fuses, PUT THE DIODES in the correct place (LMAO) and it was gold
