CRA did a great job of smashing as many races as they could into one day and expected to not be able to race at all on Sunday so we sent it HARD, both dropping lap times and getting personal bests race after race! I got to reach a goal of beating our pit-mate and friend on his heavily modified R/7 with my stock Ninja 400. THATS satisfying:applause:
I race against the bigger bikes (Aprilia 660's and R/7's) in the over 40 race, and boy oh boy it was a fight! We all swapped for the lead several times. I finally got passed by the eventual leader with 1 lap to go and got power passed 10 feet before the LINE by my buddy on his R/7. Oh well 3rd will do, I'm still happy to place
Bubbles races the same race (but against the same bikes as hers) and dominated for a 1st place WIN! This girl is on fire!
Last race they could fit in on Saturday was the 400 Superbike race (modified 400's) and I always enter that one too. I guess I like to be David against Goliath? The #1 and #2 in that race are lapping at times that are literally impossible to do on my bike, so I'm ok with getting a 3rd
The first race on Sunday was the 400 Supersport where we all are on stock 400's and its a mad house. SO much fun battling rider vs. rider. I expected to do well and had a solid 2nd place all locked up... until I got absolutely punted into the mud.
By Bubbles.
I was able to save it and keep it upright, found the track again and went after the pack. Cold, clean track, and mud on my tires. I'm not getting any smarter.
I managed to catch the tail of the lead pack and nosed in front of one of our favorite and fastest competitors right at the line (that already had a 2nd in the Ladies race), but then touched the rev limiter and watched her swing by my front tire barely in time, just before the line:apathy:
Bubbles got that 2nd place trophy, but I'm going to steal it from her when she's not looking, lol. We race super close together and very similarly so it was bound to happen sooner or later, I'm glad she did it to me first. Because now, it's ON.
Everyone knows theres Bubbles at the end of the rainbow
