good decision if i get bored of my d&d i might send in my pipe now that its off but i just didnt wanna deal with the hassel and not have a bike for a few weeks

I've had the D&D for a year, LOVE IT. as a rule, anytime you lose backpressure you lose a little low end, but the buell's have an excess of low end, so no big deal. i really like the fact that you can use a ATV jack to lift the bike, both wheels in the air. and roll it anywhere in the garage. the sound as good as any 2 into 1 can be. I did a DB level check before and after. If i remember correctly it went from 67DB to about 87DB, depending on how you use the meter. this was 5' behind the bike at 2k RPM. if you travel long distance this might get old. fit is spot on high quality. :)

Captain, on long trips, a set of foam ear plugs does the trick.
Before I did my hawkification, I couldn't hear my exhaust over the wind noise at 70MPH made by my modular helmet. Now I can.

easiest way to put on a pipe if you have the resources is to hang it. my buddys gotta winch on his garage ceiling some harnesses and putting it on was a piece of cake didnt have to remove the tensioner. but i have only noticed power loss up to about 2500 rpm but after that its amazing accelerating from 80 to 120 is a lot quicker too.

Mine was simple. Used a 6" socket extension to sneak it through the pully. Took me about 10 minutes. No jack. Just sitting on the garage floor next to the bike.
I can't tell you mine is quicker from 80 to 120. I did get it up to 90 without realizing it and backed right down to 70.

if you can find one or find the muffler to convert it... a latus is exactly as loud ad a D&D if not a touch louder and makes waaay better perfornamce... i built one and absolutely love it... ive ran a few pipes and even created a few of my own pipes out of mufflers from other things and ordered a few out of jegs and summit racing just to try them and run em on the dyno... nothing seems to out perform a latus.... i would like to try a force exahust tho however... but there $1000 price tag make that not an option... but id like to see the HP and TQ numbers...

I have a D&D on my 09 12Ss w/ a K&N air filter, no remap done, sounds great, bike runs great, no issues, I love the pipe and it requires no re-packing and retains stock jack points if you wanna lift the bike w/ a jack.

Is there any round gasket that goes inside of the end of the muffler that slips onto headers? Like in old bikes. You know guys what I'm talking about? Or you just slip it on straight from the box, tighten the clamps and you good to go?

BryD959 i bought d&d on my xb12r damn its loud!:p the power i got was midrange. however i have had some issues with headers, and exhaust bracket. make sure whoever puts it on they do it right! it's powerful it will cause lots more vibration and will crack sh*t! BUT IT IS WORTH THE LOOKS EVERYBODY GIVES YOU!!!

p.s. you can jack it up if its on right.

I have a 12Ss 2009 lightning with the D&D pipe, race ECM tuned for the D&D & the K&N air filter. The pipe is Awesome and it is the best sound in my opinion.

I just recently started to ride at higher RPMs (third gear is at 5000rpm) now the bike is hesitating when I accelerate out of third & into 4th. Also when I de accelerate from the highway to a light the bike stalls.

What could be the problem?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

I ordered my Brand New D&D, I paid $560 shipped... I hope it will be good as the Fellas said here !

:)
