Picked up an 03 xb9sl and it came with a k&n filter and daytona twin tec tuner. Since ive had the bike i did a full service including plugs ngk 9's and breather mod, open air box, and jardine exhaust. I cant figure out how to tune it with the twin tec does anyone have any experience with this tuner? I know it is not the best way to go but since i already have it i would like to use it until i can get in some dyno time and ecmspy.

Go to the Twin Tec Site and you might be able to get the Directions downloaded for what you are looking for. The Pack Tuners don't work too well on these bikes . But it's as you said it's already on the bike. Which Twin Tec is on it, model wise that is. Does it have the 3 Round dials/OR a different one? If the bike is running OK at the moment I would let it be so you can ride. Get the ECM SPY materials/ Cable & (Drivers) from FTDI.com too put on your computer so you will be ready. The Drivers are free. Now the Daytona Twin Tec Company, They may even E-mail you PDF format. Check out the Site and good luck, Sorry I can't be of more help, I install Fuel packs add on controllers several times a year for customers but most supply them that way I'm not having to Warranty the controller itself. Make sure to reset TPS if you change the settings on the Controller.*Jimi

Did you get the cables and software with it? My bike came with a daytona tunes and I found out I need the cable and software which is ~$300. In light of that, im going to figure out how to get my bike to talk to my laptop and use tunerpro.

Thanks for the info jim, cb no i dont have any cables for it i was under the impression you use the dial and the two push buttons to tune it, i just dont know what values i need for the upgrades i have done.

Since your upgrades are Air and Exhaust just set the dials to a small number the Dials are able to do pretty good for what it is as a ADD on Tuner,(keep a log on that )Ride it and feel and see what Happens. Also check your plugs and make sure not to overtighten the Plugs. AS to make sure to remember where the previous Settings were on the Tuner Before you Changed or did any mods to the Bike. Remember the Exhaust is more open now and free flowing. You are going to have to play with it a lot. I always go ONE Number at a time, to get it where the Engine is running close to correct. It won't be perfect with out the Cables and so on but with some Patience you can get it close.Gook Luck. *Jimi
