Anyone use the regular Raptor kit on their bolt before? Due to site re-construction I don't see the slim kit. Im not even sure if they are still planning on carrying it any more. The reason I ask is because I want to know if you can fit it all in the fairing without any issues.

The slim kit is just on backorder. I have one 55w raptor (the big ballast) under my lightning fairing, if you have a bolt you'll have no problem fitting two under there.

Thanks for the info guys. Now for the question what color temp. I run 8000K 55W set up in my car and thats a nice light blueish tint, i want that on my bolt, but will be running 35W in there due to the small housing. Im thinking a 6000K kit would be about the same results.

i have 6000k in my explorer and its a white-blue color. alltho im not a fan of ddm's customer service....

I have 55w 6k im going to attempt to install on my bolt within the next few days!

4300k is the truest white and has the highest light output. The higher the K the lower the light output and the more color gets thrown in. Though some might dig the colors, they can make night driving a bit strenuous to the eyes and might attract Johny Law (HID retro fitted into a none HID designed light housing IS ILLEGAL).

I went with the 35 Watt system 4300k. It has a huge amount more light output than the stock Halogen bulbs. I didn't see a need to go 55 Watt, as they will just degrade the chrome finish in your housings faster due to more UV and heat.

exactly why I'm not going 55W. 55's are great in the giant housing in my car, but I don't see them doing well in the bolt in the long run.

As far as color goes, I don't foresee any issues with the law, they have never bothered me for any of my cars before. They are into window tint around here. dang tint nazis
