O.k. (Noob here) So I'm getting ready to buy my first Buell a xb12scg and truthfully I can't wait. So this might be a stupid question, but I'd rather have something done right. I know I'm going to want an exhaust for it along with the ECM and Air filter. So rather than go through all the trouble would the dealership install everything when I purchase it? And if not, would it affect the warranty if I were to do it myself? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

any non buell stuff on the bike could be an issue to void warranty.
all work done outside a buell dealership will also void warranty if the breakdown is related to the fitted parts.

And chances are they will find a way to "make" it related.

like....Dealer says " hmmm...your starter is out, that was probably caused by that aftermarket pipe creating excess heat..blah blah blah"

I cant say that thats happened to me from Buell yet, but it has at Chrysler..Ford..and Toyota [mad]

O.k. thats pretty much what I assumed. Now If I put on an exhaust and ecm. To get it remapped I just simply take it in and say "I need to get this remapped"? what kind of cost would I be looking at having them remap it?

Yes, BUT, most dealers wont do this, you will have to find a shop with a dyno. Most people here posted prices from $150-$250-ish.

An easier option would be a Buell Race ECM that YOU can install then go to the dealer for a TPS reset. They can do that very easily, most times while you wait in less than an hour. [up]

Grrrr...double post but thats ok because I forgot to mention the race ECM :p
