Decipher Check Engine light codes w/o ECMSpy

This is not a better method than ECMSpy. But if you're in a pinch with an engine light on, with no cable or computer, you can use a simple length of wire, jumper two pins in the Duetch diagnostic plug, and it will "tell" you the Engine Trouble Code.

Note: The article says that the diagnostic plug is located behind the steering head; this isn't true for all Buells. I've got an S and it's under the seat.

That's what I was thinking also. Make on-the-go diagnostics in an emergency that way.
