I am wondering what the noticeable difference is between years..

I am looking at both an 04 and an 07 XB12R. I know there are differences but are they noticeable? What is the benefit of getting the 07 besides that it is newer?

To me the most significant differences are in the transmission and the oil pump upgrade. Does the newer transmission allow for smoother or clutchless shifting?

As you can probably tell this is going to be my first Buell, but I do think that this bike compliments my style more than what the 600 inline 4's are.

So I would like to know what everybody thinks as far as 04 vs 07 but don't be afraid to just give tell me about all the years.

Thanks

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you're thinking of the 08s that had the oil pump and and tranny differences. An 04 and an 07 should be the same bike. I would get the 07, Its gonna have higher resale in the long run. I got $2k off of my 07 brand new from the dealer. Now is the time to get a great deal on a new 07.

you'll have an easier clutch and reworked tranny on the '07.
clutchless shifting is a no-go on the buell!!!

oilpump drive rear is updated and the rear swingarm has a different styling which should be even stiffer compared to the '04.

also the airbox & intake were updated. ;)
