So today While i was Instaling my new ASV's levers, bar end blinkers, right side air scoop and carbon huger I decided to pop my front fairing off clean up the hid wiring the guy did and paint my headlight bezels (for the time being untill i order my carbon ones from asb)I found out that i have a ebr race ECM, pretty excited cuz it gives me some extra money for more mods since I was going to order one since I just put my drummer on and wanna get a k&n filter filter. Now my only question is I got my bike with a jardine on it and switched to a drummer. Should I sell it and get one for a drummer are just buy the device/ software to tune this one are even just leave this one on? Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

if you have a race ECM you are probably not readily supported by EBR because of the year of your bike (what year do you have?)

if you are not I think one of the Octo tuning sessions would be all you need to get set up right.

Ben,
I had a EBR ECM that was maped for Jardine, I did not have a Jardine on my bike but I was told by a few it would be ok.
Stock muffler Crap.. Stock ECM was better..
X's Hacked muffler Ran like Crap boged down.. Stock better..
Now with this said I emailed EBR and was told to send it in. While this was being done I sent one of my mufflers to Randy *Hawk* while EBR was Re-maping ECM...
Runs like a champ on both mufflers now.
IMO send it in for Re-maping, the map I have on mine can also work for D&D if I change my mind.
Who wants a muffler *jardine* you need to Re-build every 10-20K.
Don't get me wrong sounds sweet but im not into re-building this part on my bike yet!

Yeah there's no way I'm going to put my jardine back on I hated the wAy it sounded. I just was wondering what direction to go with the ECM. Im going to call ebr and talk to them.

some still mistake the race with the EBR and im not sure if the race is supported by EBR

I figured this was more the case because who forgets to say that a new ECM has been installed recently?
with a race ecm it could have been in the bike for years and forgotten about.

that and it said EBR and race, so I picked race.

reprogramming the EBR ECM through EBR is around $35 from what I have heard

alright i just assumed that it was made by ebr.. here is a pic what ecm do you think it is?

alright thanks alot delta. so what should i do, can you tune this ecm with just an ecm spy cable? are should i just call that company? cuz i kno that the ebr's you need that kit from ebr to tune them? thanks again for the help.

ECM spy should be all that you need :D[up]

edit: oh yea and a cable ;)

hit up an octo tuning guide if you think you need the help or go at it solo if you are savvy and confident. (I for one am going to do an octo session because I don't want to F something up by accident and I suck with computers)

Well Delta, you were right to assume he had a regular race ECM. I assumed he knew the difference. We all know what happens when you assume. :D

Bent, You should tune a regular ECM. You could probably sell the race ECM for a few bucks on here or on Ebay. That's just what I would do. Why mod a mod ya know?

yeh that's what i was just thinking about doing, im familiar with tuning cars/trucks and i downloaded ecm spy and was looking at the program seems pretty user friendly. the only thing is i would have to buy/trade for there "stock" ecm how much do you think i could get for this thing?

I would buy a stock and keep the race on the shelf

stock ecm's go between 30-100 on here or 125 on buellster

race seem to be 100 and up, I say grab one off a part bike.

but a race ecm can be tapped into as well, so long as you save all the data on it you can return it to its original programing.
