Thanks to speedkills for the write up on how to do this. All I did was change the order through a little trial and error.

What I wanted was to have both lights on when the switch was on low beam, and to have the low beam light on when the switch was on the high beam setting. I was successful.

The order: Left to right (white, orange, yellow, black). For reference the black wire will stay in the same place as stock, and will still connect to the black wire that comes out of the headlight.

Why did I do this? I do not like having the high beam light on. So now the high beam light tells me when I am NOT running both lights.

If you don't like having the high beam light on, then why do you have the both headlight mod done?

I think he is talking about the high beam indicator light. Why he wouldn't want it on is beyond my comprehension.

I like this mod, indicator lights should only be on under special conditions I.e. turn signals flashing, check engine or low fuel. I would like to have both my headlights on as standard, no indicator on. I'm doing this mod to my bike.

I tried to do this mod to my bike but I couldn't get the cables out of the plug. I tried jamming them with nails and other skinny things I had laying around but I just felt like I was going to break something. Plus I heard someone saying their bike started having a hard time starting after they did this mod because their battery was worn down a bit from both lights running. Anyone else had that issue? Sometimes I just turn the switch half way between hi and low so both come on but I'm afraid to leave them both on too long.

I understand what you mean about not wanting the hi-beam indicator on during the day, but that just means the light is going to be on all the time when you're riding at night without the highbeam on, and being dark out will just make the light seem twice as bright, won't it?
