DIY.. XB fuel pump REBUILD!

Hey everyone, this is an FYI for all XB owners.. I see people buying brand new and USED HD fuel pumps for TOP dollar (200$ & up!)..this is crazy! our pumps can be rebuilt with over the counter parts for a fraction of that with NO wait [up] (from Autozone and other major vendors) & they are also quieter to boot.. the only parts HD has a corner on are the o-rings(you can make your own though!) and intake strainer(retrofit possible)..

E2061 is the Autozone pump motor part number .. and FF3330DL is the Autozone filter part number!

If you blow the pump they are retailed for about 300 for the assembly at my local dealer. Most of the failures I've seen have been from the wiring harness which rubs the mount for the pump and filter. Now they have an updated harness that has a sleeve that the wires run through in that area. Everything on the fuel pump assembly are servicable parts with part numbers from Harley except the fuel pump. So if you have a blown pump then you can get the autozone part and not ever have to bite the bullet and buy the assembly.
