It's SO easy to break those Xtra-thin Iridium electrodes. They are supposed to be pre-gapped. I measure gap at the counter before I buy. Never had a set yet that didn't gap correct when I checked though (NGK Iridiums).

Ok this is an older thread but I wanted to keep the spark plug thread clutter to a minimum.

I've read many different posts/ideas on the ngk iridium spark plug gapping, do it or don't do it. Some say you don't have to, some say to do it. Now that iridiums have been run in Buells for several years now, is there a general consensus that you do OR do not have to gap NGK iridium plugs.

Some posts say they come pre-gapped, but mine are not .035, more like .025. Part number DCPR9EIX, 2316.

there was a time when you didnt need to gap iridium plugs.seems like the last 5-6 years they need to be regapped no matter what they go in or who makes them.
