Someone asked me to post this, maybe a mod can make it a sticky.
I believe this is only for pre 2008 bikes.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK:
1) With the bike connected to ecmspy fetch your stock eeprom and maps and save them from the file menu. Make sure you save both your stock eeprom AND maps in several locations, email it to yourself, email it to friend's, etc... If you make any mistakes you can always load back your stock eeprom or maps. Then close ecmspy/disconnect from bike.
2) (Bike does not need to be connected to ecmspy for this). Load the eeprom you want and save the maps from it: In the eeprom tab go to file / load eeprom. Here is were you load the race maps for your bike model . Note it is called the race maps but it is actually the whole eeprom. Once it has loaded go to the maps tab. In the maps tabs go to file / save maps. Make sure you know where you save it and what you name it(this gets loaded in step four).
3) I have been told it is recommended to do a tps reset at this point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i33__Qkvhn4
4) Open ecmspy and connect to bike. Go to eeprom tab and fetch your eeprom. Once the eeprom has loaded go to the maps tab. In the maps tab go to file / load maps. Now load the maps you saved in step two off of the other eeprom.
5) Once the other maps have loaded select burn maps. It will ask you several times if you are sure, select yes, etc. Now your new maps will be burned onto your ecm.
6) Do a closed loop ride: The closed loop area is found when riding in low throttle positions at low rpm, but not under stress. I believe this is approximately 1500-4000 rpm and 10-30% throttle. Try and do a few miles on flat roads between 40-70mph and low throttle openings, with a steady throttle. This should be about a 20 min ride or longer.
Also, it is my understanding that you should NEVER click the burn eeprom button, never burn the entire eeprom as it could "brick" your ecm. I'm told the only thing you should burn is the maps.
