I just got mine and put it on, did airbox mod, K&N, got the race pipe, just need to finish the breather mod.. Now EBR says it needs a TPS reset so i got to take it to the dealership.. Would anything be affected if i rode it there without having the TPS reset or should i stay safe and just haul it there and ride it home?

What year is your bike? If its an 08 or 09, its easy to do yourself. Its pre 08 just check out the service manual at the top of the page.

If its an 08+ then this is how its done.

To reset an 08+ Buell, do the following:
1. Turn on the key.
2. Set the kill switch to the run position.
3. Don’t start the engine. Rotate the throttle from fully closed (gently forced closed) to fully
open (gently held open), and then back again to closed (gently forced closed).
4. Repeat 3 times. Hold each position (fully open, fully closed) for 1 full second.
5. Turn the key off and on (only once, not repeatedly).

I put mine in my '09 just a little earlier today, took it for a ride and remembered about 10 minutes into the 45 minute ride it that I didn't do a TPS reset before I left...everything ran fine and it was like riding a whole new bike!

I'd like to hear about the differences you noticed. I'm pretty sure I want one, but I was worried it would be tuned for the top of the rpms primarily, and obviously, on the street, I want good power everywhere. (This is primarily why I'm going with the drummer, instead of waiting for the ebr race exhaust) I just got an 09 Scg last week, and am planning on a original drummer and either a K&N or the buell race filter...

I've read plenty that say the bike will run fine with the stock ecm, and I've read plenty that say the ebr ecm is worth it, but I haven't come acrossed any detail yet...

Jacked up Fireplug. EBR ECM is a must for 08-09 xb12's. Huge improvement on backfiring and that annoying fan when running a high flow filter and pipe.

With new EBR ECM and without TPS reset and atleast 15 minute ride at speed, bike will run like shit. Major gaps in throttle and terrible idle problems when first starting. After TPS and ride, smooth as butter.

Yesterday I put my EBR ECM in, did not do a tps reset (forgot to really...had planned on doing it but was too excited to ride!), hopped on and rode and other than an odd high idle at initial start up it rode beautifully...butt dyno was off the charts with improvement in power at all rpms.

Did a tps reset before riding home from work and the idle was all over the place (to include dying) pre ride, but seemed to be ok at the one light I have to stop at on the way home. Hoping the ride at speed let the ECM learn everything it needed...

I still get some backfiring...but it's better than with the stock ECM.

I'll wait until I lose 100 pounds before adding the EBR ECM. That might take a couple years. Though 28 years ago I did lose 70 pounds in 7 months. I was one skinny SOB at 155. A 4.5 day cross country ride left my right butt cheek numb for 3 weeks.
