I just bought myself an EBR preprogrammed ECM. I didnt feel i had the time to go the in depth route of self tuning with "Tuniversity". I'm excited to see if it was a good investment.

I'd like to know who all has bought one, if they liked it.

Also have seen this info
If you go the EBR ECM route, DO NOT USE ANYTHING TO MESS WITH THE ECM, you will screw it up and EBR will tell you "Congratulations, you now own a 300 buck paperweight", you have to go to the dealer to reset TPS on pre 08 model EBR ECM's

While i'm not doubting UlyLuigi in any way or that EBR did say that... has ne one thrown caution to the wind and used ECMSPY for the reset? did it brick ur ecm? Should i just bite the bullet and haul the damn bike 60 miles to a dealer.

I have an '09 1125R with the EBR Race ECM tuned for Jardine exhaust, and I love it. It made the bike run the way it should have from the factory, if not better. As for the TPS reset, it was easy on my bike. Three turns of tjhe throttle, turn bike off, then start it, done. I wouldn't do anything to alter the ECM, seeing as it is tuned by EBR already. Granted there will be variances in the conditions in which you ride when compared to the conditions EBR tested and tuned their ECM at, I wouldn't change a thing. Hope you like it!

thanks ATF, glad to hear that u like urs.

Most of the searches ive done on here have come up with people happy with their results especially considering how simple of a change it is to do.

I wish that the pre 08 bikes had that simple of a reset method. The reset on ECM SPy is pretty simple too but that warning about toasting my new investment freaks meout.

I bought and EBR for my 2007 set up for a Drummer. I really like it. Read through here 1000 times, but was afraid of EcmSpy as well. But, I figured a couple services and anything I bought would pay for itself fairly soon with just the TPS resets.

I bought VDST from Techno Research and have had zero problems. IT's quick and easy, just followed the cool DIY vido here on the forum.

My bad, I had just never heard anyone having a good experience messing with EBR ecm's, just recently some had posted on here that they had tried to reset TPS on an EBR and it went all screwy, if I remember correctly he had some experience with ecmspy

the way i understand it on pre 08 bikes there isnt a problem with ecmspy and doing a tps reset or looking at any other data.you wont be able to change any of the values though as far as fuel, timing ect.

that /\ makes sense to me. I have no desire to go indepth on their ecm(thats why i bought a preprogrammed.) I've heard some much "they dont have the same firmware" "it'll ruin ur ecm" im gonna wait for reply from EBR on this matterjust to c. But i think i might go for it. I've done a TPS reset a few times. No problem on my stock ecm.

i think ive read that thread, didnt he end up having other issues as well? ive been googleing the issue and so far im finding more " i did it and it worked fine" than horror storys of toasting it. I wonder if the ppl who have had problems are more experienced with ECMSPY and got a little too curious and tried to fetch the EEPROM or maps and maybe that causes issues. Just throwin out ideas

its definetly worth warning ppl to be cautious luigi. i think ppl that r less experienced with ECMSPY are prolly more like to buy an EBR preprogrammed and should consider letting the dealer do it.

I have an 09 XB12Ss and put the EBR ECM for the Hawk. It made a huge difference! No decel pop, pulls harder. Very pleased with it. It does idle a little high when you first fire it up, but once it gets warmed up all is good.

09 XB12R with race exhaust and K&N, runs great with the EBR.....even on the track!

08's and up have a user resettable TPS, I think that is why we tend to be a little happier with it, I generally do a TPS when the weather makes dramatic changes, temp, humidity and such.

I put one on my stock '09 Scg. No more mid-range dip, more responsive, and better mpg. I hate the EPA.
