I have an 06 Uly 15K miles, no comfort kit. Also have an 07 Uly 10k miles with comfort kit. The 07 throttle response and overall performance is better and smoother than the 06. After resetting the TPS and installing the comfort kit on 06 is there any danger in using ECMspy to copy the 07 mapping to the 06?

I have an 06 Uly. I improved heat and performance by adding +1 to entire Fuel Map and reduced Timeing by -1.

It is very dangerous to retard timing blindly. Great way to grenade the engine. In general, it's best not to touch the timing without a trained professional and a dyno.

clueless and totally unaware of it.

@ichy -- Advancing the timeing with too much fuel will cause detonation possibly harming the engine, at least rattleing the valves as in my case. Retarding the timeing depending on fuel quality can help to closer align peak pressure to the magic 14deg atdc. This aids in cooling and perf. Please dont be an internet a-hole. If you think someone is clueless explain your concern otherwise shut your worthless mouth.

uh. another expert.

please tell me:
- how much are changes (in %) if you add +1 to closed loop fuel?
- how much are changes (in %) if you add +1 to WOT fuel?
- how much does ego correction change because of these adjustments (in %)?
- how much does afv change, because of the new ego correction (in %)?
- how much will WOT fuel change because of the new afv (in %)?
- is it more or less than +1?
- is it positive anyway?
- how does mixture change? lean or rich?
- what will happen to max BMEP? more or less? sooner or later? why?
- how does EGT change? why?
- how does head temperature change? why?
- and, last but definitely not least: how are you supposed to change spark advance now, at the end of the chain of all changes? advance or retard? why?

First of all a-hole I am not claiming to be an expert just relating positive results.

I started to anwser but you need to anwser first, why are you here? To help people or to inflate your shortcoming by attempting to discredit and belittle people? Seriously retard go away the internet is really tired of your type.

no there isnt if done right.

ich, lighten up. His changes were trivial and he had a positive result. How, oh how, did our old carbed bikes even get out of the driveway? I've run 100hp engines on points and mechanical advance for christ's sake.

You want to critique others efforts? Look closer to home. I'm still waiting for the phucking email to register ECMSpy and try to make a donation.

@Livers Thanks, like I said I am not an expert but I will be on the line as a riders wrench Saterday at the Pro Motocross National in Lakewood Co. First year with fuel injection, I always got carbed bikes to run well at altitude so I am a bit nervious, MXer's are not closed loop.

sorry, my fault. i completely forgot about that part this time. do you demand for it? it would be my pleasure.

ecmspy is none of my business. but as i have some helpfull five minutes, you get a hint for free: did you try complaining to [email protected]?

of course you did. otherwise you would be a dumbhead, wouldn't you agree?

Of course, I'm a dumbhead. I should have magically pulled that email address out of my ass. I can't imagine how else I could have obtained it. Thanks.

Nice thread hijack! Any adults have an answer to my question? I'll just save my original map try the other and revert back if need be. Thanks anyway.

Danair , Hi sorry about ich every site has one! Any how I only have an 06 so I cant speak to ECM compatibility but the ecmspy software docs stress backing up your entire epprom prior to any alterations. Seemed like sound advice so I did it. What dosn't seem right on your 06 I have rode both and really I didn't notice a performance diff.

Don't think the 06 ecm has ever been updated.07 was updated after comfort kit and k&n install just before I bought it. It ran noticeably better. Flashed the 07 fuel and timing map to the 06 and it runs as good as the 07 now. Didn't reset the afv, which I think I should have. Overall happy with results.

Oh, and I did backup everything to 3 different media before I started and checked that ECMspy would read it.
