I have an 04 Buell XB12R. I just set up parallels 7 on my MacBook Pro running Windows 7. I can get it to connect and talk to the bike. I can do the little throttle blips, see temp changes, download EEPROMs and Fuel Maps just like the guide GatorBuell wrote. I was even able to drive around and log a megalog (took some 3rd party software to keep the mac from sleeping with the lid shut)

The problem is when I try and reset TPS or set the AVF the little "closed loop" window closes, the "keys" button for connection pops up, and nothing has changed. The cold start enrichment numbers stay the same and I'm pretty sure its not reseting the TPS because the bike is running like hell since I started doing this.

My only other idea is to borrow my neighbors PC and load ECMSPY on it.

Find a cheap used Dell Mini 9 or Mini 10 notebook on eBay with a SSD. Run XP/ECMSPY. Perfect size for datalogging, no moving parts or fragile hard drive to worry about, plays well with ECMSPY and runs for hours on a charge. The Mini 9 is no longer made (not sure about the Mini 10), so they can be had for really cheap (I see lots of them for under a 100 bucks).

Watching a couple on eBay now. Going to borrow neighbors PC this weekend. Still hoping someone has had this or something similar with quick fix. Thanks!!

Thanks for the info all. I got home hooked up my neighbors PC laptop and it does the exact same thing. Then I watched the video on here about TPS reset and if you look close his does the same thing. I guess its normal to have the closed loop box close when you hit TPS reset or AVF reset. Now on to saving it all and playing with it.

Finally got this right!!

I have a new TPS cable on order. The one that is in the bike is worn horribly flat on one side and I think is the root of all evil

In an effort to eliminate problems I stripped out the throttle and idle cables, cleaned and lubed them. Cleaned the entire throttle body (Another thread talked about SeaFoam and it works) butterfly was black with 1/16" of build up on it. Put it all back together and it wouldn't idle when cold. Reset TPS a billion times but no change. Read this entire forum, the 3 ECMspy guides and still no love.

1. Bike cold
2. Stripped it down to get at the TPS cable. Including cutting zip ties to frame.
3. Backed it completely back out save half a thread holding it to the throttle body plate.
4. Adjusted the Throttle push pull cables until they were right with no change left right swing of handlebars.
5. Fired up ECMSPY and reset the TPS with the nut all the way out. Butterfly shut tight.
6. Turned idle screw back up to 5.1-5.2 Blipping throttle to actuate butterfly as I went.
7. Bike cranked flawlessly at cold temp.
8. Instead of sitting in my garage with the F)(*0*ing fan blowing exhaust out and all that noise I just rode it for 15 min and then came back. TPS was perfect 5.2 and 1050 RPM.

Anyone think I should make a nice clean photo thread of the above? Since I'm going to be doing it all again next week when the Idle cable comes in?

On to the Steering head bearings. I'll take photos as I go and try and make a nice DIY thread for that. I have about 10 different threads worth of tips and Ideas I'm going to use for new all balls bearings.

Thanks for all the help so far everyone.
