Engine gasket P/N's

Well, after hearing about wolfo having his bike stolen, went and checked on mine out in the parking lot at the airport where I work...decided to have lunch, so pulled a piece of asphalt curb, sat down next to her...dang it, the rear cylinder base gasket is leaking. After lunch began parts searching and found that the P/N's, some were different/updated, so gotta share the info since the search feature on the forum sucks a$$

New engine gasket KIT part numbers:

17058-02D...Gasket Kit, engine overhaul

17059-02B...Gasket Kit, top overhaul

17036-91A...Gasket Kit, rocker covers

also found the clutch cable for XBS has been updated too

38613-03C...Clutch cable, XB

though these changes in the numbers are minor, trying to google or typing in search box of your HD dealer will get you no where, just FYI

Is that clutch cable the same for all year models? I'm about to pull my primary cover off, thought i might just replace the cable while its torn apart.

was looking at my '03 parts catalog at the number listed ...38613-03, looked at surdyke, new castle and LSHD, now I can't remember which one gave me the updated number, think it was LSHD, then went back to surdyke to see how much they wanted for it.
netty...to answer your question....yes for all year model XB9S/12S, just called new castle, they confirmed it can get 'em @

surdyke- $49.84

LSHD1-$44.80

Aaaahhhhh! We can drop that engine in an hour another hour the jugs, then back together in less than 2, you check with ASB

No they are typically on the high side. I ordered it from lshd1.com. With shipping, it ended up the same as my local HD, but HD has to order it anyway so I just went ahead and ordered online.

didn't know they updated the numbers for '04 since I have an '03...

crash...ASB has what I need, but my wallet at the moment is suffering also need a new rear tire, after 11k on it, she's about to be done for
