I would just like to say thank you for creating such a fun bike to ride. My 08 XB12Ss is a blast to drive and turns heads on every street corner. Thanks again from a future life long Buell rider.

I very often purchase things I may not need simply because the producer exhibited so much vision and 'thinking outside the box' that I feel he (or she) deserves reward for that forward thinking. I've always been a 'Harley' guy so when the 'midlife crisis' struck me I looked to Buell. I remember when the first Buell's started coming out in the early 90's (real production, that is) I was awestruck by his vision. Later on when I was thinking of sport riding I gravitated to the XB line for the sheer genius of them. This guy was thumbing his nose at the established industry and said, "I'm going to build a sportbike for the real world and I don't care what anybody thinks." Sort of, if you build it they will buy it. I get such a visceral pleasure just thinking about my Buell and how unbelievable it truly is. If I wanted to race for a living I MIGHT think about a rev happy 4. In reality I ride to get away from it all, to relax, to see the countryside and to whip through a sweet run of twisties and there ain't another bike out there to satisfy at such a deep level than a Buell. My hat is off to Eric who makes a product for me.

I've always been a sportbike rider and would never consider a cruiser, but if I did it would have to be HD. I used to say that if there was an American sportbike I would get rid of the Jap bikes. When I started looking for a bike again (haven't ridden since '92) I had no choice but to consider a Buell. After much research I had no choice. I'm glad someone in America makes a sportbike that I not only love but am passionate about.

10 years ago I set my eyes on my frist buell and said if I ever get the chance I would get one. Well my life came to a point I could get a bike, Well I look around to find the best bike. 2 months of serching, reading and asking around I found the bike I love IS the best bike!!!! Buell xb12stt superTT has all I ever dream I would what and more! I have only had my bike for a short time and we are taking it slow but the confendence I already have is admazing. The genius in how it performs. You can just eat up the road and feel in controll at all times!!!
I to would like to say thanks man for the best sportbike out there! I love IT!!!

Sorry gang I don't spell well but I just had to say it. "dislekets untie" LOL!

i agree with everyone ive had a couple of jap bikes and they are fun. but they are nothing like my xb12s it is so awesome and i will never have anything but buell

I purchased a used 2006 XB9SX this year, and i already believe this will be the best purchase i have ever made in my life. It only had a few 1000 miles on it when i got it, and it was in great shape. The major selling point for me in the Buell over the Ducati, was the availability of repairmen. After owning and riding it, i am so glad that i made this choice. I cant quite go as fast as my riding buddies on their CBR 1000's, and R1's, and sometimes i struggle with the 600's even on top speed. But when it comes to corners, and backroads, they are amazed that i can keep the top speed around a corner and i dont even break a sweat. It is kind of funny on the backroads how i will pass my guys in a curve, and then they pass me on the straight away,...my bike is amazing, and i can't wait for the day i can walk a wheelie,... thanks erik

In some industries, the big players actually get involved with the online communities. I wonder what it would take to get Eric Buell to visit Buellxb.com and give a shout out. I think Eric would have to hold up a piece of paper that said Buellxb.com for us to truly believe it was him and not some poser.

I know some on this forum claim to know him or have met him before.

i bet he already has I was at my frinds house and was reading a magazine called btiwn and thier was a page review of a ride at the bottom it was siged ferris bueller I have seen this same name on this forum as well my friend told me that name is erik's pen name maybe its the same person i dont know but from what I have been told erik is active in the buell community and visits all the forums I mean where better to get info on your bikes then from the people who own them

That's a very good point..I figured that when I originally came up with the post. What better way to find out what ur customers think, then to check out the forums. Do you think this is why the 09 Lightnings have blacked out parts then previous years? Seems like thats one of the things we all complained about on here one time or another.

i've owned about 16 bike's in the past 8 years, there was always some shortcomming in each, until i got my superTT, i wanted to test one and then one day in cycle world magazine had an add that said test drive a ulysses and get a free "man bag" so i went strait to the dealer to see if i could, "SURE" replied the salesman, off i went! WOW! this bike had everything i was looking for and more. the guy's at work would joke about how often i changed bike's, right after i got the bike i changed job's, and a year went by and i seen my old plant manager, he asked "so what kind of bike do you have now, i said i still have the buell, cant find anything wrong with it, don't get tired of it, LOVE IT! and yes i still have the "man bag" to much better than a backpack. thank's Eric!

Erik does not post under the name Ferrisbueller. That is Jerry Haughton. Erik does look at the forums. But rarely posts. I think in 10 years I can count on two hands that he has made it visible that everyone knew it was him. If you thi nk he check's here??? I'd be willing to bet a lumps sum. Often??? Probably not but thats for all forums. He's so busy that I really don't and can't understand how he or anyone for the matter can do what he does. I'd be willing to bet lots of other Buell engineers and such or peaking in more then you know.

Hey Jeremy...

Seems you need an "Open Letter to Eric" forum for us to post on.
Just an idea...

I love my '08 XB12R, only my second street bike but I dont ever see myself without a Buell in my possession for the rest of my life. I wanna thank Erik for probably saving my life getting me off those 200mph 4bangers and offer up my first born for an XBRR:D

Erik I'd say has had enough children by now. But good luck finding a RR. Few arounf here and there.

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and not yet a Buell owner. I will be purchasing a 09 XB12Scg this spring. I live in Wisconsin near the Buell facility and have a cousin that has worked for Buell for over 10 years. She will be taking me on a tour of the plant this spring as well. It would be great if Eric was there so I could meet him but I dont know if that's even a possibility. I doubt they let you take pictures or I would and post a few. I'm looking forward to being a Buell owner and I would like to say thanks already for all the info I have gained from this site. Ride on:D

Welcome to the site. That's a great opportunity. I'd love to take a tour of it sometime myself. Surely they'll let you take a few pics and post a few of them. Good luck with your purchase, you won't regret it, and welcome to the "family".
