What are most people doing with the exhaust cable after installing a Hawk exhaust upgrade (or drummer, special ops)

Thanks,
JD

I have mine tucked under my seat on my lightning, too much trouble to remove it completely.

If you wanted, for '03-'07 bikes, you could turn off exhaust servo option in ECMSpy so you won't throw up codes, and rip all that servo crap off altogether.

I ripped all my Servo Crap off and mod'd in ECMSpy.

It's way cleaner and I don't have to worry about that silly box bouncing around my open airbox. ;-)

I believe he's asking about the cable, not the box...I removed my servo box as well and plugged the asb emulator in, but the cable that runs down to the exhaust looks like too much of a pita for me to take out, so I ran it under my seat.

You can turn off the servo on an 08+ if you use ECMREAD and TunerPro. Or you can make or buy an emulator. I recommend the ECMREAD TunerPro. I did it on my 09 SCG.

Thats good! I ordered up a cable a few days ago just for this purpose. Is there an option in ecmread to just remove it like ecmspy or is it a bit more complex then that?

It is almost as simple. Go ahead and install Tunerpro and get the xdf files. Go thru all the different parameters to get familiar with them to see where they are at. It is just uncheck an enable box for interactive exhaust.

I don't have the program here at work or I would tell you exactly what to look for.

When you get ready just post back. I'll be glad to help.

I just installed tunerpro and its pretty straightforward. When i get my cable and pull the xdf i will load it and try to find it... I'm just playing around right now with other xdfs i found online and they don't have a value for "interactive exhaust". closest thing i found was "active muffler control configuration"... but as far as i know this could be for a xb9...

Its a pain but I pulled the cable out completely, and just left the servo in. I just built an emulator so we'll see how it works.

just removed my servo and all that foam crap that goes with it. now my airbox actually lines up with the top of the frame like it's supposed to. appears all that junk was bowing it up in the middle!

Sorry my bad memory. If you look under flags/switches, scroll down till you find "Active Muffler Control Configuration: Enable AMC Feature". Double click, and uncheck the setbox. Then save.

As for the emulator, if you use the circuit shown in the ECMSPY manual, it will work. I built a couple of emulators before I got my ECM cable from Xopti. I built one for myself and one that I sent to someone else on this board.

After I got my servo out, I cut a piece of metal flashing and used some RTV silicone to glue the flashing on the counter set shelf on top of my airbox to cove all the screw holes etc. It really cleaned it up. Course I also have the translucent cherry box cover.

So after un-checking the set box, save it and burn it back to the ecm, can i remove the cable and the servo? Where does the power source originate from and can i unplugged that as well? I had the airbox open when i installed my new air filter and i remember seeing all that but now its a bit foggy to me.
