Hi guys/girls, I have a 08 uly and have done a few little mods to it.. Now am looking a exhaust.. I trying to save a few bucks and was thinking of building my own using the 2 hotdog resonator.. I like the look of that one, istead of gutting the original. But the problem is back pressure.. Easy enough to weld it all up strait though, but was wondering how much resistance I need.
Any ideas?

got any pics, cause i don't have a clue what you're talking about on the 2 hotdog ...

I'll get a pic asap.. Its a strait through pipe perforated, with an outer casing packed with a thin layer of glass packing between the casing and perforated pipe.. Little or no resistance..

From what i have found they like back pressure for the midrange power delivery the strait through pipes only coming in to their own at high revs, maybe you could think about fitting a reduced diameter perforared tubes not to sure but that will give a bit of resistance with good sound

You don't need any back pressure. You want tuned length
True, but harder to achieve without a tuned length header. I would think you'd have to experiment a lot with the ID of the pipe he's using.

2 hotdogs is like the one I built.

The guy that dynoed my 1998 S3 takes a threaded rod and welds a washer on the end and puts them in the end of the pipes of the Harleys at a 45 degree angle and turns them alittle at a time until he gets the back pressure he wants. He did this on my fathers 75 suprglide. Don't know how you would tune it without a dyno but I do remember him saying that most bikes run fine with them at a 45 degree.

Thanks for the feed back.. Keep it coming...
Pockets.. Spot on.. That a what I'm look for.. How's it working for you?

Banshee- It's workin awesome! Even without a remap it's only popping a little. Definitely gets noticed!
