Hey all,
Anyone have experience swapping a stock exhaust for a custom one? I was looking at the service manual and it indicates removing the rear wheel and drive belt. This seems like alot of work to get to the rear muffler clamps. Does anyone know of an easier way or is this it? Are there other options? If not, can anyone provide info on the easiest way to remove the back wheel? What concerns should I have, especially putting it back on properly.
Thanks for the help.
Ken

that's not necessary...take the front pulley cover off and use a long extension to get the rear muffler clamps. I know that they also tell you to replace the front clamp...Also BS!!

Good luck!!

Randy of Hawk Performance fame told me that is a myth.
Please, anyone, correct any mistake I present.
Right side pulley cover off. Use an extension on you socket wrench and that should do the trick getting to the clamp bolts.

hahaha Fish!! looks like we were giving "Randy advise" at the same time!! No mistake...IT WORKS!!:D

50d. Yup. I was trying to decipher the notes I wrote from the phone conversation we had.
Randy is a fountain of knowledge and is very helpful.

And an 18V screw gun to get the nuts done faster. Ha!
Or an air tool.

Has anyone invited him to come here on the Forum, if he's not already. He's got plenty of opportunities for business here and sounds like he'd be a great addition also.

You guys are amazing. This is why I love the forums. Thanks so much for the help. With a little bit of luck I should be hearing the beautiful sounds of the new exhaust this weekend. (But I will admit, I am a sucker and bought new clamps).
Thanks again
Ken

What exhaust are you putting one? Please don't say "Jardine." They suck. Turns the flat torque curve into a bell curve.

Steve...I have forwarded links to him in the past. Not sure why he hasn't posted???

I know he was concerned that some forums don't like shops like his to "advertise" products & services freely. Is that a problem here?

No. I doubt he's one to cover the pages with SPAM. Others have used this forum for such things, keeping it to a couple long-running threads and there's been no issues.

I would love it if the face of Hawk Performance came around here! Lots of people like his exhaust, and have questions.
