Hi All,

I have done a lot of trawling to find out what i need to know but am after some clarification...

I am keen on upgrading my exhaust and have kinda settled on the Jardine RT-1, however i have found out i need to re-map/ re-jet?? not sure which one?

I have been lead to beleive that i have a few choices ugrade the ECM, re map the stock ECM Via ecmspy, a new power commander or latest option buying a dyno jet kit?

Any help/ alternatives would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

re-jet would be for carbed bikes, you have fuel injection so its considered a re-mapping of the ECMs fuel maps.

your choices for altering the fueling are Race ECM (designed for the factory race pipe), remap stock ECM with Direct Link or remap ECM with ECMSpy (not so easy do to the single narrow band oxygen sensor, less accurate than wide band).

some shops like American Sportbike have done the tuning work on a dyno and have maps available for purchase that you can load on your own with ECMSpy and cost around $200. this would be a general map and not specific to your bike but a good alternative if you want easy plug and play.

then there are the 'piggy back' modules to alter the fueling. some of the available units are the Dobeck Performance TFi (only adds fuel), FreeSpirits TFi, Remus Powerizer and one other I forget the name of, its a new one that came out recently. someone may fill that in.

dont bother looking for info on anything PowerCommander or DynoJet 'kit' related. they dont offer supported solutions for Buell XBs. some have retrofitted tuber Buell PC units but results werent good unless you disable the learning features of the Buell ECM. stick with something more 'modern' and supported for Buell XBs.

quick blast of info off the top of my head. hope this helps. keep in mind that the Jardine pipes require repacking often to keep them stable. the XBs tend to blow the guts out of it or shear rivets if you dont keep an eye on it.

i build a pipe for the XB's and i also offer tuning help if you have (or are willing to get) ECMspy.

gbalias, what's the deal for your pipe? $ and other info?

Also, typeone, where can I find info on the factory race pipe?

email me at [email protected] for more pipe info as prices for a build might vary. otherwise its all stainless w/maganflow core, uses stock mounting location and hardware, dual tips, you get an OEM style clamp for the elbow-silencer joint and the stainless elbow as well. its basically a direct swap and 12s dont use the actuator. i do not offer the fairing brackets. ( i might later on, pending longevity testing.) i can also help guide you through tuning. (if youve got ECMspy)
