just snapped a nother one about 10 mins ago. any one know of a better brand bsides tool davidson. had the bike for 3 years and replaced 7 of them now . its getting quite irritating

doesnt sound like a cable problem to me. fishing line would last longer. a wild guess here, but sounds like the cable is getting kinked because of poor routing. have you changed your bars or rotated your perch?????

I don't think H-D makes their own clutch cables, they are sourced from somewhere

the clutch cables really probably aren't snapping because of poor quality

where are they breaking? is one of the two barrels falling off or is the cable snapping in the middle? If it's in the middle you're probably somehow straining the cable and kinking it constantly to make it snap, especially if it snaps in a similar location every time

if the cable were of poor construction, usually what happens is the barrels fall off

to what thorivola said, where its breaking is where the problem lies. my guess is right at the lever, where the strain of a bent cable will occur. don't have a picture of a ASV handy, but cables likes to stay straight especially exiting the perch. The problem is probably where the cable is running through the asv, its either rotated to much one way or the other or if it has a adjuster the position is bending the cable to much or the vortexs' are angled to drastically which cant be changed. Actuate the lever and look to see if the cable is being drug on or bending thru the perch. It must be seriously misaligned as is, but should be easy to see where the problem is. post a pic if nothing else. "unbreakable" hmmmmm

the ball is falling off . i matched the angles and hole size to the original lever. i like the asv lever and perch it makes pulling in the cable alot easier. i know i have the cable adjusted correctly . i guess i will wait for the new one to post some pics up maby you guys will see somthing im oblivious to .

Can you tell us where the cable is breaking and under what conditions. Something is not right if you are breaking that many cables.

its breaking right at the ball in the lever. it slowly breaks strand by strand. i got home yesterday and it was held on by 2 strands. i dont know if this makes anything but i do alot of wheelies and burnouts but a cable shouldnt break from that.

ive rode bikes with hydraulic clutches , i dont really like them too much i mean there cool and all but it doesent have the same feel as a cable. update on the cable found this place around my area that will put a new cable in for me a thicker one with some kind of special coating. the guy said if it breaks like all my oem clutches he will replace it for free.

Fock347... What differs in terms of feeling between Hyro and cable??? I feel actually better with the hydro on the Buell, its better to dose at low rpm to avoid hopping. The Magura is worth the money and saves weight as well.
