Fan still running like always.

I put a rss and heat barriers front and rear on at the same time and the fan seems to run about the same. Do you think maybe one cancels out the other? What I mean is if the heat is being delected from me( downward ) is it making the engine hotter? I was thinking about removing the air box heat shield and seeing what happens.--Your two cents please or experience.

Your hypothesis makes sense. If heat can't escape upwards like it normally does, where does it go? (rhetorical question)

Cherrys Xb has a home made heat shield and a rss scope.
I got so worried I hadn't herd the fan I ran ECM spy and checked the fan and temp sensor. But it all is working correctly

If you have a newer ECM flash the fan runs all the time regardless of if you fit a R/H scoop.

The heat Shields are more for the rider comfort. The fan will do the job when needed. The scoops Right or Left will help on the highway OR above 25 miles per hour. You should be fine and the fan on the newer Air cooled XB bikes 2008-2010 runs by Temperature & the Throttle[set speed]12-15 miles per hour. When riding it will run and when below 12-20 miles per hour the fan shuts off. It will still operate by Temperature in Traffic and usually comes on the low speed and will Kick up to high as needed.All the 2010 XBs have this Fan cycle on the Stock ECMs.~Jimi
