Nice work...

Who widened the wheel?

Is there a pic of the final belt drive (right side)? Did you put on a different sprocket?

@Doc: Here ya go!

spec:
Now the essay :
Minor handling issues....I have already adapted to the 240 wheel.
I am now going through the bends the same speed as before.
I have lost a bit of top speed, as my bike can only reach 200 Km/h.
It takes longer to get there.... But it doesn't bother me.
If I need more speed, I will get a big bore kit.

In South Africa the Buells come out with 180 Tyres standard.
My rim is a Suzie Bullevard with my origanal hub and spokes welded back.
The local Mag repair shop did the mod.

TylorMade Wheels have a 1/4 Inch offset on the rim to get the belt to clear the wheel.
With the Pre-2006 Buells the Taylor wheel will fit.
Even the HellBender from HillBilly's used a pre-2006 Swings are.
My Swings arm is a 2007, and the tolerences are smaller.
That is why I had to weld to sort it.

tenzi,

Nice work and thanks!

Do you have any close-ups, detail shot of the rear wheel, that was clever!

I like the fact you are running a belt, but I was wondering if you ran a chain, would you still need to move the right foot bracket out?

Nicely done. Would of figured both sides would have needed to be widened but since a 240 will fit in the stock swing arm I see it only needs to be widened to maintain the belt drive.

Really don't care much for the right bracket spacer although it is needed. I would have opted for a custom rear set then space them to match so you wouldn't have an uneven look to the bracket.

Hell Yeah!
For those intrested ... If you plan a 240 Conversion. Get yourself a SCG Rear Shock. This will level the bike out.... Also consider taking the rear pegs off.I tried to let the bike look standard. My rear pegs had to be modified to clear the swing arm.

If you plan a 250 Conversion ... Be careful of the brake lining, and your tolerences are very tight on the oil side of the swing arm..... The Standard Buell Swing arm will handel a 240, but a 250 you need to make major modifications..... again I might be wrong
And as you can see in the pic above, his front right peg juts out a little bit so i think either chain or belt, the right front peg mod is a must
you guys can read more in here

@extremelow: 240 will not fit the stock swing arm, you have to mod it to fit, and even the rear right peg if you want a standard look :D

A 240 Will fit the Stock swing arm but you need to do a chain conversion.

If a 240 wouldn't fit a stock swing arm the left side of the swing arm would have needed to be modified also not just the right side.

Here is a link to a setup you can buy which retains the stock swing arm but allows the 240 since it has a chain conversion, also there is no need to modify the peg bracket with a chain.

Grandstand Designed 240 Kit

@Xtreme: my bad[down]and thank you for your informations!
But the belt will make the 240 look better than the chain and that kit is kinda pricey i think :D

I agree with the belt over the chain, but in the big picture most people are able to come up with cash faster than custom one off parts of their own.

I know I prefer custom built over bought but truthfully with the amount of R/D that goes into some items and the tooling needed I have to buy over build.

I like the fat ass. Nice work on the custom fab work on the swing arm. You show the drive pully, but it is hard to tell exactly whats going on there. Is it a custom job or did it come from somebody?

I'm loving it! I dont' understand why the Grandstand kit is so pricey though. Between the wheel widening and the chain conversion, I'm figuring that is only halfway to the $3000 asking price. So where is the rest of the money going?

Yeah I looked into that too.

Widen wheel cost $800, tire costs $285, and chain conversion cost $500 and other than that nothing elsebis needed. So that is about $1500, so yeah where does the rest go?

I would think they would poweder coat the wheel to your liking and figure too some people may not know where to widen a wheel or to get a chan conversion.

Am i mistaken when i asume that the rim is changed, and a 18" diameter rim is fitted? If so witch width does it have after mod?
