Almost finished. Just need to find pods to get the intakes off of to add to my flexiglass fairings

Hey do you mind holding the firebolt fairing up to the 1125r stay? That's what I'm doing in hopes that it will be slightly angled down I will be doing this in a couple weeks so I'm just hoping to see a test fit since my parts are at home and I'm at school

By wider neck do you mean where it mounts to the frame or the two bottom fairing mounts?

Oh I didn't realize that! Thank you, very good to know. You're bike looks great, I can't wait to get mine done! Clear flames windscreen looks sick, also I've never seen a white powder coated swing arm before but I really like it, well done on the whole bike!

I got a kit off of e-bay. What I did was enlarge the holes with a step bit. Then I ground the grounding tab off of the mounting ring. I took a cut off wheel and modified the led bulbs so they would fit, and still used the factory retaining spring for the oem bulb. If this isn't something you want to tackle, for a few bucks I can do it for you. Pm me with your info and we can work something out. I have 2 more that I have to do for fellow buellers. Just let me know.

Thanks. I was just curious because I was looking into an hid kit but haven't ran across any led kits for my 08 12r. How do these compared to hid's?

Depending on the kit I would say they are on par with hid's depending on the kit. I believe that a 55w h3 bulb is around 1500 lumens per bulb. A good h4 led kit is around 2100 lumens per bulb so 1/3rd more lumens. They run cooler. Definitely brighter than regular bulbs. If you have a somewhat steady hand you can take this on. I just don't like the look of one headlight for low and the other for high.

If you are going to go hid, try the http://www.theretrofitsource.com/ Never heard a bad thing. I have installed hids at work for a few years. We have tried many kits, and they all had issues at some point. We have switched to led's and haven't looked back.

I have a set of flexi glass full fairings still to do, just have to find a set of pods to remove the black intakes and get them cerakoted
