Firebolt frame

Is there a difference between a xb9r and 12r main frame? I have seen some without the cut out for the airbox inlet on the left side of the frame.

No difference between XB9 and XB12 frames (R/S/SCG) just a color. The intake from '03 to '05 (i think) had the hole through the tank using the left side air as an intake. '06 and later closed that hole for more gas and has holes in the airbox cover as an intake.
Now the (SS,STT, and Ulyssses) models have longer frames that are interchangeable with each other.
