Anyone know what it takes to raise the bars on a Firebolt? There used to be an XB9R running around in Ramona, CA. that the guy had raised the handlebars and the fairing. Bike was done really well, you wouldn't have known if he didn't tell you.

I'm guessing you need a top triple clamp from an XB9S or XB12S? Not sure what else is involved, what bars to use, how to raise the fairing, longer brake line, clutch and throttle cables? If you know the tricks, or parts required, post up please.

Thank you...Metz

metz: both LSL and Spiegler make complete kits to convert the firebolt clip-ons to tubular handlebars. either is not cheap but complete and outstanding quality. you're paying for all their R&D along with superb parts. installed one LSL kit on a firebolt a few years ago and it was easy bolt-on along with losing the belly-bike riding position.

I have the LSL superbike bars on my 12R and they're fantastic. The riding position is eons more comfortable and it compliments the 'street fighter' type handling characteristics of the bike very well.

Here's what it looks like:

On my particular bike the factory upper triple was machined to accept the bars, but I believe LSL sells one for the conversion.
