Cruising on the Interstate at 80mph today on my '06 XB9r made me wish I had better wind protection. I was looking to see what is available and what I found are the Zero Gravity Sport-Touring and Double-Bubble windscreens. Has anyone had any experience with either of these? Are they much better than the stock windscreen? Are there other options? Pics would be nice, too.

I am 6'2" and most of that height is in my upper body. Even when I lay on the tank, I cannot get out of the wind. Though I use the bike to commute, sport-touring is what I like best. I am too old to be a knee-dragger.

I too thought it was extreemly annoying with the wind, however after purchasing a double bubble windscreen (the ghost flames one) I soon realized that it didn't change anything. I was still getting wind, and it was still very annoying. After getting a better helmet, the wind resistance and noise went down, and I just got use to it. I would gladly go back to the old windscreen because it just looks better to me than the double bubble, also if you leave your bike in the sun, it creates a magnifying glass effect, and can melt your gauge cluster cover... which can get expensive. hope this helps! the below image, is my 06XB9R and my 07XB9R with the windscreen... I like the old one better :(

i have a dubble bubble on my 04 12r and the biggest diffrece to me was the larger area to duck into when on the hwy. down side is that when trying to ride in the upright position the wind now hits me directy in the head instead of the chest like before......I have actually considered going back to stock. PM me if you think you might want my DB.

Believe it or not I cut my fairing down and have less wind in the face[up], It instead hits my chest, which is much more comfortable than the neck or face shield.

I have heard guys complain about the Zero Gravity saying it feeds the air right into your face.

Also like everyother_time mentioned, a good helmet will help with air flow and noise!

Don't mind BuellChick and you can see how the sir flow goes into your chest. But there is still enough area to tuck behind while cruising down the highway.

On my first bike I had the Zero Gravity screen and hated it. It was actually the first screen I cut down. Again in the picture you can see how the air would flow up into the neck and face area.

who needs a screen anyway... ;)

even teh CR has minimal upper fairing!
and all can sit nice at well over 200 clicks.

I got ZG double bubble. Not much of a difference, now the air hits the helmet instead of my chest. I'm 5'10" bty.

Whoa, thanks for the pix Glade. Now I can see what white wheels do for me. Nice.

Sorry about the OT post...

i taped mine off, cut it with a jig saw, the took a long piece of wood, and wrapped it with sand paper and sanded to smooth it out.

I made a mark with a yellow wax pencil and followed behind with a dremel. Then used some sand paper to smooth it out.
