I finally got my Buell out on the track at Motor Sports Raceway Houston for the first time. I was a ton of fun! What everybody said about playing leap frog with the Japs from the straights to the corners was totally true. The japs would crack throttle on the straights and zoom past me, but then I would catch them in the corners and take them on the outside like they were standing still. It was a great time!

looks like fun! I have only done one track day here so far this year. The second one turned out to be windy and cold, so they cancelled. two more weeks until I can do another.

Your track looks a lot more tire friendly. our local track eats up tires like there is no tomorrow. I usually get about 2 track days out of them before they are too thin to ride on.

great pics!

Thanks!

I don't have any experience from other tracks, but it looks like my tires are worn about 1000 more miles than when I started lol.

Wish I could have been there! I'm going to try hard to make tws on memorial day.

They look anything like this? this was my first track day with these tires...chewed em up pretty good.

I wanted to make for that wkd with Steve and the others from here in San Antonio. Work has been busy and days off are hard to come by. Might have to wait to June to get out there, hopefully not.

Wiz how do you like the Crossroad bars with the harder riding?

Hmmm, now what can I do to make BuellChick's bike better for the track and not let her know what I am doing ;)

Dont want to possibly trash my bike at the track but BuellChick's bike would be a lot easier to replace. Thinking if I remove the tail lift I would be set. Maybe even throw the stock bars on incase I low side and bend one.

I'm sure you got the "U sure u want to do this, parts can't be easy to find for that thing" question.

Glad to see another xb out there.
Any other twins out there with ya?
What Org were u with, I can't make out any logos?
And dude, that might have been ur 1st time but that suit has got some miles on it.

Now when u going again?
U know u want to...

Hey Wiznut, you a part of the local meetup groups in the San Antonio/Austin area?

I live in College Station and am a student at A&M. I really want to get over to one of those meets some time, but I havent yet.

I feel like having the crossroads helped a lot with being able to have a more foward body position. I always felt like a T-rex when I leaned foward on the stock bars.

I didn't get asked that question, but it sure was running through my head the whole time. I actually skipped the last session because I was getting tired and I just didnt want to push my luck any further lol.

It was a Ridesmart track day. The suit had definetly seen its fair share of falls and track days, but it was free since it was my first time. I don't know when the next time I will be able to go is. I will have to do some corner working to get some credit before I can afford to get out for another day.

Ya and the xbs are a "light" bike.
Just imagine what it takes to push some of the heavier bikes around.
Gotta pack a good lunch on track days, it helps.
The late afternoon sessions are normally the CR (Control Rider) playground.
After all the noobs like u n me are tuckered out.
Which you find alot of them sitting out the 1st session doing all their prep for the day, where we are choping at the bit to get out there.
