As some of you know the best way to stay warm during winter riding is to use heated gear. I have pretty popular heated gear set from Firstgear (gloves liners, jacket liner, pans liner, socks liners) with Dual Remote Control Heat-Troller. I use this particular model https://www.amazon.com/Firstgear-Du...words=first+gear+heat+troller#customerReviews

It was mounted on my handlebar on the front brake fluid container during last couple years with ziptie and it looked pretty sketchy and not accurate. So I decided to design holder for the heattroller to mount it nice and firm.

So to build your own heattroller holder for your Buell XB you need to :

- have access to extrusion 3D printer
- download this STL model of the holder I shared https://drive.google.com/file/d/12k07beo98F537c2xr1VoTgsVApLh0yqz/view?usp=sharing
- buy 2 Alloy Steel Flanged Button Head Screws Black-Oxide, M6 x 1.00 mm Thread, 50mm Long https://www.mcmaster.com/#92137a685/=1cagisq
- buy a short piece of aluminum tube 0.245" Inside Diameter , 3/8" Outside Diameter https://www.mcmaster.com/#1968t69/=1cagjhi

Upload the STL model to the 3D Printer and print the holder using UV resistant strong plastic filament

Extract the holder from the 3D Printer and install heattroller and attach ziptie to the channels on the back side

Cut two spacers from the aluminum tube. Each spacer should be 29.8 mm long.

Unscrew the clamp from the front brake bracket

Attach screws and spacers to the holder

Attach the clamp to the holder

Install the holder with heattroller on the front brake bracket

don't own or need "heated riding gear".......don't own or have access to an "extrusion 3D printer"..... wouldn't be caught dead mounting ridiculous trash like that onto any of my 25 assorted bikes. what DOES concern me though TEABAG is the unsightly yellow discoloration around your fingernails. can either be the result of a serious fungal infection or dietary considerations. are you getting enough vitamin C?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ wrong as usual.
southern PA and i ride year round. heated grips is all i need to be comfy.

It means it is not cold enough, or you ride not long enough, or you ride not fast enough, or all together if heated grips is enough.

TPEHAK, but what do you do to stay warm in the other 4 gears? :black_eyed:

When ride on highway on 5th gear at 70 mph and frozen wind blowing hell out of you I twist heattroller all way up to stay warm, and it works just nice.

After all that .... the best you could come up with is a zip tie to hold it in place . Why not water jet some amazing metal clamp. Or build yer own controller that isn't the size of an 8 track player. I'm a little let down.

Because of this is useful, accurate and elegant solution which works very well. This structure does not need multiple custom parts , just one. And this holder cost just a couple dollars for materials.

And you can not just cut flat clamp, it will not work properly, it is going to be CNC milled bracket with a bunch of features.

If I would decide to go without ziptie I would design probably two 3D printed parts to hold the heattroller, but I like the current design better.

^^^^^^ hahahaha. I had a 92 vette some yrs ago and it had the factory Delco Bose head unit w a CD player and a cassette deck, and my at the time teenage son asked me if the cassette opening was for an 8 track. I was like.....are you effing serious!!!!!

Let's be serious, how many people are going to make this holder? How many people have access to a 3D printer? Another look at me see what I can do thread by bag of Tea. Well done Earl Grey!!

Not that anyone else is going to have it made but he did offer the file/work for free and getting it made through shapeways.com in a similar black plastic would run $57.33 without any discount codes they offer, not bad...
