Florida to Sturgis and back

Any one interested in riding to Sturgis from Florida and back this year? Aug 6 to 12 is the event. I am in Melbourne but we could meet some where.
2008 XB12x and I do all my own work and I have a few parts to take along.
I am use to long rides and you would need to be too.
Although I do stop for fuel every 100 miles or so, that helps.

Where in melbourne are you? I'm in Orlando, and know a few others in Orlando. I also sometimes ride to melbourne to hook up with my dad who lives in suntree.

I don't know that I could make that trip, I'm leaving town that week, I think the 9th.

Sounds like you ride like I do on trips, I like to stop ever 100 miles or so and stretch for a minute. Allows me to ride all day. Let us know if you want to ride sometime, we have an Orlando riding thread here:

Im south of MLB in Malabar
I have seen the Orlando thread. You guys normally go west. Not that there is any decent riding my way but the scenery is nice by the Ocean

Yeah the roads are twistier to the west. Maybe next ride we could go east. I've ridden up and down us1 and a1a with my dad quite a few times. We also used to loop around through yeehaw junction back up to orlando. Haven't been on that side of orlando in a while though.

I looked up where sturgis is and no way I can make that lol. I'm going to be out of town around that time so it won't work out.

The big bike nite here is Long Doggers. corner of Palmbay rd and Minton rd in Palmbay. Live music, beer and lots of people.

I am not real sure, still making plans. I know I am going the week before the event, probably the end of july. I am going thru St Louis to hook up with a buddy who is driving a motorhome up there.
I am from St Louis so I may hang there a day. Plenty of people to stay with. Then return probably Tuesday, the 7th. I was thinking I would take those 2 weeks off to do the trip.
Do you have any plans yet?

Plan is to leave Florida on July 29. 4 to 5 days travel. Arrive Sturgis August 2. Plenty of time to ride and see the sights in SD and Wy. Leave Sturgis on the 7th of August to return home. This gives a lot of wiggle room should we need it for repairs, or scenery or whatever.

Looking for recommendations for camping in or around Sturgis.[confused]

never been there...i was plannin on hittin back roads most if not all the way there. i wont be bringing a too much along w me..so idk bout camping. ill be ridin there w my cuz.
