Changing out my plugs, back cable was stuck. Though I had a good grip on it, and long story short this happened....

have work tomorrow, only mode of transportation since the wife has class tomorrow. all the auto stores are closed.

Hawaii, so yea really sucks.

Got the boot off the plug, some sort of tacky **** was holding it on that feels like glue. Had to pull the connector off with pliers it was on there so tight.

Any chance I can macgyver something to last me until tomorrow night? About 50 miles of drive time tomorrow.

Try to crimp the end back on otherwise your SoL for a day till you can get a plug set from the parts store.

Haha I hate when that happens. I just did it a few months ago on my rear cylinder plug wire. I trimmed it back a little and re crimped the end on as a temp fix, but keep forgetting to go get new plug wires. I must've done a good job of rednecking it back together, cus it's still holding up just fine. I haven't even thought about it till just now, so thanks for reminding me to go get a new plug wire!

This is what I have.

So get the wire back into the clamp, so the black inner wire is pinched between the clamp and plug, and put the boot back over it? Alright to slice the boot open and just electrical tape it back tight on the clamp or no?

Thats the old plug btw

Cut it but just make sure the electircal tape won't allow it to arc on the frame or other metal. I would try to lube the boot first rather than cut it, but worst case cut it and use it for a bandage job.

Thanks all, she ain't pretty, but atleast it works. Ended up slitting the boot up to where it bend, and just taping the hell out of the cut. No check engine light and both cylinders are firing. As long as I can atleast make it to work tomorrow, can always leave the bike there and bum a ride to the dealership. If they don't (which I know they won't), take it they're the same wires as the ones off a sportster?
