So since I first saw the 1125's, I've wanted one. I found a 09 1125r with about 11,000 miles on it. It's at a dealership and they are asking $7,995 for it. Seems pretty steep compared to what others are selling for. I emailed them and asked if they would be willing to take a trade for the bike and they said they would.

So my question is what should I expect to get on my 04 xb12r with 9000 miles that is in excellent shape, a few scratches on the rims and the plastic could use a polish, but besides that it needs nothing. Brand new tires, brand new brakes, new battery, right side air scoop, and a few other odds and ends. Also, what price should I expect for them to come down to on the 1125r?

I'm not sure if the stator has been replaced or not. Something that I need to figure out.

Thanks for any input you can provide!

I imagine they'd do 3k on trade for an 04 12r. I know it's not even close to what you'd want, but it's a realistic number to expect from them.

If your trading in take all your mods off a dealer won't give you a penny for them
need to look at kbb prices value of the xb have came up some 1125 still pretty low
I would guess you need to add about 1 k to 1500
To make a deal

I paided 7500 for an 09 with 600 miles in Alaska....you should keep looking....

Says this in the ad;
A new gear position readout is added to the digital display on the instrument panel as a scroll-to feature. A high-output alternator has increased capacity for accessory use. Slider bobbins have been added to the swingarm for protection and easy use of a rear stand.

Listing the mods, its says its had stator work. Nice how they slide over it as a mod for accessories... They dont mention the Buell Touring Seat or the full fairings. I always like the 1125's much better with a full fairing

I really like the styling of the 1125's and id like to continue my ownership of the Buell brand. I'm not necessarily wanting to go "faster" either.

Besides the leaky clutch and the stator, what other issues should I be aware of?

Yes and I wouldn't give them one penny more.
If you ride alot and get frustrated fast don't get it.
Stator and Drive belt is about to break.
I had 19,000 on my when i traded it.
3 stators and a drive belt 2 voltage regulator s
also been a handfull to drop valves.
Really look at cough mumble bad web about 1125 problems.

Thaloc, i figured they pulled that from the manufactures advertisement. I figured they were referring to the HO alternator of the 09 compared to the 08 1125r.

I dont know how you ride. And dont take this as bashing the 1125's.. I rode the CR and the R a few times and really liked them. But the XB is much more practical ride for everyday riding. If I got my chance to pick up a CR or an R with a full fairing cheap, I would jump on it, but never trade my 12R in on either. You will regret it.

Well, everyone's opinions are getting me nervous now.

I bought my XB Jan 31 of this year and have already put over 2200 miles on it. I practically don't drive my car unless its raining or I'm taking my dog with me somewhere.

These... are not excuses.

Haha, I agree but why ride in the rain when you don't have to?

And I highly doubt I could get my 110lb Doberman Pincher to stay on my tank like that. It would be awesome tho!

look for an '08 1125R, I have had mine for 25K miles now, and the only issue I have had really was the leaky clutch, but was replaced under warranty. Everything else has been great.
