Hey guys, I was looking on ebay at buell parts and I came across a listing for Mackieharleydavidson.com who is selling there entire stock of new Buell parts for a buy it now price of $1573.00. They said its worth close to 4 grand. My first thought is I wish I had 1500 bucks but my second thought is, how are they going to continue to service their existing Buell customers who bought Buells from them in good faith? It seems parts already are getting non-existant due to Buell owners buying and hoarding the parts they can find. The only thing on ebay now was rows of catalogs and sintered brake pads. I know harley by law is supposed to make parts for 7 years, but call your local harley store and see what parts you can get from them. I dont know, do you guys see this as a major concern or not?

There was another dealer selling a lot of about 7k worth of stuff a while back. A lot of it was stuff not big items but large quantities of smaller items like shifter peg rubber caps, etc.
I've been concerned since Harley shut down Buell. Some dealerships will still get parts, others will decide its not worth it to support buell riders and turn us away. My local Dealership claim to be the last in NYC and they curse a blue streak every time they see me walk through the door, cuz they know i'm going to ask for a part, they're unfamiliar with, can't find in the book or can't readily find.

If I had the means, I'd take the whole bike apart and make a cast of every piece... because sooner later I might need it and not be able to find it. Whenever I order parts from harley, I order extra and store in my garage out of paranoia.

every buell dealer had an option to keep servicing or dump Buell luckily mine kept buell.
ps they still have one neww 1125r and a used cr at Grandrapids harley

Ya I think it all just depends on how many they actually ever sold, and then how many came back for service.
I know 3 dealers in CT that are still Buell friendly.
It takes them forever to get parts, but it always did, in my opinion anyways.

Sun Harley in Colorado just listed their remaining Buell stock on ebay for buy it now of $6900, they said $13500 in inventory. What the heck?

It concerns the hell out of me ! Service already sucked when they were still in production. Now it's just getting worse ! [mad]

I can still get any part I need for my '86 Fiero, my '71 GTO and my '62 BMW. I am not worried, someone will take up the slack.
As a machine gets older, there will always be people willing to reproduce parts, and stashes of NOS parts are always showing up.

The only problem with our situation is that our machines are not old yet and many are having issues with getting parts. [smirk]

You can't compare those cars to our bikes. Cars are sold by the millions from huge companys that have been around forever to collectors, enthusiasts and everyday drivers. Our bikes don't carry those kind of numbers in production, dealers or buyers. I needed stock mirrors for my 08 1125 and had a hard time, no luck at ANY dealer, on the web only American Sportbike had some but they were on back order. I finally got a pair off of ebay after watching and waiting everyday. It's not like I was looking for some internal special part, mirrors for petes sake! And now seeing all these dealers dumping their existing inventory of parts is really got me wondering, (A) what is their motive in continuing to screw Buell owners and (B), is it worth it keeping a bike with known bugs that in 2 or 3 years you won't be able to fix when something really goes wrong.
