Front brake problem maybe??????

when my bike sits for a period of short time my lever feel is real soft??? But i can pump it and it firms back up. Any ideas??

well you can never get off of it . anyway look is it spongy or rubbery kind of soft. is it always after it has been settin for along time or does it happen when you ride also.if that is the case then you might have a bad o-ring or even a gasket. are you the soul and only owner? if so what year is the bike have you changed out the fluid? brother i guess what i am saying is we need a lil more information.

it only happens when it sits over nite. Its real soft bout have to pull it all the way to the grip till it firms up. Its a brand new 08 any I'm the only owner got close to 800 miles on it.

my guess is that you have air in your system.

did you have that problem in the beginning or not?
when using wrong brake fluid, air can be produced, which could cause your problem.

it cant be the wrong brake fluid cause it just rolled out of the dealership. and because of that i would take it back to them tell them you are having front break trouble. if you tell them what you think is wrong then they might just loook at that and the problem is not resolved. so just take it back cause it was obviously not pdf right.

I have to agree with LeFox. Bleed the system (you'll have to have some DOT 4 brake fluid on hand to do this anyway, so you'll know instantly if the wrong fluid is in your system). Motrax (available at Cycle Gear) makes an excellent one-way valve (MOTRAX Brake Bleeder #54533) that slips on the brake bleeding nipple on the caliper that turns the bleeding process into a one-man job.

I had the same problem, and this solved it immediately.
